The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the allocation of subventions from the state to local budgets for the repair and construction of shelters in schools. A total of UAH 2.19 billion has been allocated for 50 projects.
This is stated in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The projects were selected by a commission of the Ministry of Education and Science. Hromadas applied through the DREAM system. After that, regional military administrations provided recommendations and project proposals for funding. The MES Commission selected the projects to receive funding in accordance with the criteria set out in the CabMin Resolution No. 417 of 12 April 2024 and the recommendations of the RMA.
These are 50 projects for the repair and construction of shelters, mainly in 8 frontline and Russian-border regions. The total cost of these projects is UAH 2.19 billion.
In addition, according to the resolution, communities must provide information on the use of funds on a monthly basis and upload photos of the facilities to the DREAM platform. Anyone can get acquainted with the projects, their status and estimates.
Communities that did not receive funds for the arrangement of safe educational spaces under the subvention have the opportunity to raise funds from other sources, such as international partners. To do this, hromadas need to create a profile in the DREAM ecosystem, add their own projects, and follow announcements about the possibility of financial support.
We are also accepting additional shelter projects from individual regions. The results are expected to be published by 7 June.
