The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide EUR 300 million to Ukraine to help ensure stable and uninterrupted power supply.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
"The EBRD will accumulate €300 million to support the energy sector of Ukraine, which is suffering from Russian attacks. The relevant memorandum was signed today with the President of the Bank, Odile Renaud-Basso,’ the Prime Minister said on Telegram.
The funds will be allocated to state-owned energy companies to restore generation capacity and infrastructure, as well as to build new decentralised generation.
"This support will help us achieve our goal of ensuring stable and uninterrupted electricity supply throughout Ukraine. I am grateful to our partners and personally to Odile Renaud-Basso for their contribution to our resilience,’ added Shmyhal.
In total, the EBRD has provided €4 billion in financing to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the occupiers.
