Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has started talks in Paris with his US counterpart Joe Biden, Ukrinform and a CNN correspondent report.
According to the photos, they are also attended by US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The US president announced a new aid package worth $225 million.
"I have already announced six significant funding packages. Today, I am announcing an additional package. $225 million to restore power grids. We will never leave you,’ Biden said.
At the meeting, Biden apologised for the delay in US aid, CNN reports.
‘You know, you haven't given up, you haven't given in at all, you continue to fight in a way that is just amazing, just wonderful - and we're not going to leave you,’ Biden said.
Earlier media reports suggested that the new aid package could include HIMARS munitions capable of reaching targets in Russia. The United States will also provide HAWK air defence missiles, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, 155 mm howitzers, armoured vehicles, trailers, patrol boats, explosive materials and a wide range of spare parts as part of the package.
