The Ukrainian national team defeated Slovakia 2-1 in the second round of Group E at Euro 2024, UEFA reports.
In the 17th minute, Ivan Schrantz was the first to respond to Haraslin's cross and headed into the left corner of Trubin's goal - 0:1. The Blue and Yellows had a chance to equalise in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the post after Tymchyk's shot.

In the second half, Brazhko scratched the ball out in the centre, passing forward. During the counterattack, Zinchenko connected on the left, received a pass and rolled parallel to the goal into the penalty area, and Shaparenko was the first to react, scoring in the left corner of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Yaremchuk ran into the attack and passed to Mudryk - Mykhaylo shot into the goalkeeper's corner and hit the post. In the 80th minute, Yaremchuk received a long pass from Shaparenko and scored a low shot into the Slovakian goal - 2:1.

Following the match, Ukraine moved up to second place in Group E with three points. The Slovaks also have three points - third place. Romania leads the group with the best goal difference.
