Canada's Ministry of Defence has said that Ukraine is free to use tanks and armoured vehicles provided by Canada in Russia, CBC News reports.
Canada has given Ukraine eight Leopard 2A4 tanks, several dozen armoured combat support vehicles and hundreds of armoured patrol vehicles, as well as several M-777 howitzers.
A video shot by CNN along the Ukrainian border on Thursday showed a Canadian-made Senator patrol vehicle travelling through Russian territory.
"Ukrainians know best how to defend their homeland, and we are committed to supporting their capabilities," said Defence Ministry spokesperson Andrée-Anne Poulin in a statement to the media.
She added that Canada does not impose geographical restrictions on the use of military equipment that it donates to Ukraine.
- The UK has allowed Ukraine to use the provided weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation, except for Storm Shadow missiles. The British side stressed that Ukraine should use the provided weapons "in accordance with international law".
- The President of Finland said that Ukraine could use Finnish weapons during the operation in Russia. The head of state also expressed support for Ukraine's operation in Kursk Region.
- In contrast, the United States has not yet granted permission to use long-range ATACMS missiles in Russia.
