The length of the frontline where the Defence Forces are currently engaged in active combat is about 1,000 kilometres. Every day, the defenders repel more than 150 Russian attacks, said Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyy during a live broadcast at the Ukraine 2024.Independence forum.

Russian military has concentrated their main efforts in Donetsk Region. Their goal remains unchanged - to reach the administrative border of Donetsk Region, using air superiority, missiles and ammunition.

The most intense fighting is taking place in the Pokrovsk sector, and Russian army is also actively attacking in the Toretsk, Kramatorsk, Lyman and Kupyansk sectors. Over 50 firefights take place in the Pokrovsk sector every day. Russians are taking advantage of the superiority in personnel and ammunition, and are using armoured vehicles. It is conducting offensive actions with assault infantry groups. Russia is trying to seize a section of the Kostyantynivka - Pokrovsk road to disrupt logistics.

"The enemy has somewhat reduced its activity in the south of Ukraine. First of all, this is due to the fact that it has redeployed some of its forces and equipment to the Kursk direction. At the same time, it continues to conduct local offensives in Zaporizhzhya Region, trying to regain its lost ground, primarily in the area of Robotyno. In Kherson Region, they keep trying to regain control over the island zone in the Dnipro River delta," explained the Chief of Defence.

Russians use more than 4,300 FPVs per day, hitting infrastructure.

The defence forces are striking at Russian positions and important military facilities in Russia.

The Defence Forces' offensive in the Kursk sector continues, with successes. One of the objectives of the operation in the Kursk sector was to divert enemy forces from other areas, including Pokrovsk. Russians understand this and is concentrating its efforts there. The most combat-ready units of the Russian military are concentrated there. However, we still had to move troops from Ukraine to Kursk.

"We can state that about 30,000 servicemen have been redeployed to the Kursk direction, and this figure is growing. At the same time, the enemy is trying to withdraw units from other areas, and on the contrary, is increasing its efforts in the Pokrovsk direction," he said.
