The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Ukrainian Navy carried out a joint operation targeting an enemy drone storage facility in Russia’s Rostov Region.
On Friday night, Ukrainian forces employed drones and a Neptune missile to strike an ammunition and reconnaissance drone storage facility near the village of Chaltyr. According to sources, SBU drones initially “overloaded” Russian air defence systems before the Neptune missile successfully hit the facility.
An SBU source described the operation:
“The SBU, together with the Ukrainian Navy, hit a crucial target — a warehouse with reconnaissance drones that guide enemy strikes on Ukrainian cities and the front line. Now, there will be fewer of these Russian ‘birds’ in the sky. Our work on military targets in the enemy’s rear will continue.”
- Earlier, the head of Ukraine’s Centre for Countering Disinformation confirmed strikes on concealed Russian military depots in the Rostov and Leningrad Regions. He noted that Russia attempts to disguise military facilities as ordinary factories, but their true purposes are well known.
- Russian Telegram channels reported fires and explosions in the region. In the village of Krym, Rostov Region, a fire broke out at the PlastFactor plant, allegedly producing flooring. Explosions also occurred in Gatchina, Leningrad Region, where a fire engulfed 1,900 square metres in an industrial zone. Reports suggest an acetone plant is on fire.
