During his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian military at the front were provided with everything they needed to perform their combat missions.
‘The report of Chief Commander Syrskyy - the frontline, Kursk, our positions, our actions. The brigades are provided with everything they need. I am grateful to our soldiers: the resilience of the army is the confidence of the whole nation and, of course, the confidence of our diplomacy,’ Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State adds that Ukraine is working to expand its own weapons production, including drones. ‘First of all, these are drones for our frontline, to save the lives of our soldiers.’
Stopping American aid to Ukraine
- Donald Trump's decision to stop all military aid to Ukraine has now been announced. This applies to everything that has not yet been delivered to Ukrainian territory, including weapons that were already on their way.
- According to the US press, Trump made the decision after consulting with his closest advisers. A few hours before the information was leaked to the media, Trump announced a ‘big night’ on social media and criticised the Ukrainian president for saying that a peace agreement was still far away.
- The supply halt followed attacks on the Ukrainian president at the White House, where Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance accused him of disrespect, ingratitude and unwillingness to make peace. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly expressed his gratitude to the Americans for all the support they have provided and stressed its critical importance. However, he stressed that a simple ceasefire without security guarantees cannot be peace, as Russia has already violated the ceasefire 25 times. Therefore, according to the President, before signing a peace agreement with Russia, it is necessary to determine what guarantees Ukraine will have and who will be responsible for these guarantees.
- The US administration, on the other hand, is pressing Ukraine to agree to ‘peace’ first, and then to receive security guarantees.
- According to the Minister of Defence, US assistance continued at least as of 3 March. All the aid that was allocated in packages under the previous Joe Biden administration went to Ukraine.
