The anthology Animals in War, starring Sean Penn and telling the real stories of animals affected by the war in Ukraine, has secured distribution in North America. Omnibus Entertainment has acquired the distribution rights. The news was reported by Variety.
The film was created by Ukrainian filmmakers in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The anthology consists of seven separate stories that explore the humanitarian and environmental consequences of war through the fates of animals and people.
The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Animals in War also received three nominations for the Ukrainian Film Critics Award.
