In early March, Madrid will host a solo exhibition by Ukrainian artists Roman Khimei and Yarema Malashchuk entitled Pedagogies of War. The project will be presented at one of Spain’s leading art museums, the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza.

The exhibition will run from 3 March to 31 May 2026 and will feature large-scale video installations created by the duo over recent years, as well as new works prepared specifically for the Madrid presentation.

Pedagogies of War examines how war shapes societal thinking, permeates everyday life and transforms collective memory. The artists work with documentary material, media imagery and personal testimonies, combining cinematic language with installation practice.
