From spring 2026, the Warsaw-based Pro Musica Viva Foundation will launch a series of concerts in Ukraine. The performances, dedicated to Polish musical culture, will take place in several cities: 22 April in Uzhhorod, 26 April in Rivne, 14 May in Ivano-Frankivsk, 29 May in Khmelnytskyy and 14 June in Chernihiv.
The concerts will be held in collaboration with local philharmonic societies and orchestras, under the baton of Polish conductor Roman Rewakowicz, who has been fostering Ukrainian–Polish musical ties for many years.
The programme features works by prominent Polish composers. In particular, music by Frédéric Chopin, Witold Lutosławski, Wojciech Kilar and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki will be performed. The programme will also include other historical figures, including Józef Elsner — Chopin’s teacher — as well as Władysław Żeleński, Stanisław Moniuszko and Mieczysław Karłowicz.
The musical works will be performed by Ukrainian soloists — violinists Lidiya Futorska and Andriy Pavlov, as well as pianists Jozef Yermyn, Oleksandra Zaitseva and Dmytro Tavanets — accompanied by the philharmonic orchestras of the participating cities.
The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, with the support of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Polish Institute in Kyiv.
In addition, the 12th Days of Ukrainian Music are scheduled to take place in Warsaw in September 2026. Pianist Danylo Saienko, the PARTES ensemble from Kyiv, lyre player Andrii Lyashuk and the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine are expected to take part. The organisers have stated that the programme details will be announced at a later date.
