Two energy workers have been killed in the Donetsk Region as a result of Russian shelling. Some consumers in the Donetsk, Mykolayiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv Regions are temporarily without electricity.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

Energy workers are working around the clock to restore power supplies as quickly as possible, with repair work continuing without interruption. Due to adverse weather conditions, some consumers in Transcarpathian Region also remain without electricity. Repair crews are working to restore the supply.

In Donetsk Region, two energy sector workers were killed as a result of an enemy attack on an energy facility.

In the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, efforts are continuing to extinguish a fire that broke out on 7 May within the Chornobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve. The fire has been contained, and State Emergency Service rescuers, together with specialists from the exclusion zone, are continuing to extinguish isolated pockets of smouldering, particularly in peat areas. The situation remains under control. Gamma radiation levels in the exclusion zone have not exceeded normal limits, and the radiation background remains stable.

No power supply restrictions are planned for today, although consumers are advised to check for updates on the official websites of distribution system operators.

Ukrainians are also being urged to shift their active electricity consumption to daytime hours, from 11:00 to 15:00, and to reduce electricity use in the evening peak period, from 18:00 to 22:00.
