A car exploded on the morning of 28 July in Odesa’s Peresyp district. This was reported by the Odesa Regional Police.
As a result of the incident, a 49-year-old driver was injured. The victim’s wife contacted law enforcement at around 8:00 a.m.
The blast occurred in the courtyard of a high-rise building on Semen Paliy Street.
Preliminary reports indicate the explosive device detonated after the man started the SUV and began driving. Medics examined the victim at the scene.
“The Security Service of Ukraine classifies the car explosion in Odesa’s Peresyp district as a terrorist act and has already opened the relevant criminal proceedings,” the SBU Office in Odesa Region said.
According to sources cited by RBC-Ukraine, the vehicle belongs to a serviceman.
