In the Kherson region, police evacuated four monks from the Novoraisk community who were injured in a Russian drone attack, as well as the body of a cleric who was killed.
The National Police press service reported this.
Recently, in Chervonyi Maiak, Russians attacked a men’s monastery with an FPV drone, as a result of which a 72-year-old cleric sustained injuries incompatible with life. Four other monks aged between 31 and 53 suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.
The injured managed to reach Novoraisk.
“Due to constant shelling by the Russian army, access to medicines, professional medical care and transport links for residents of the Novoraisk community is complicated. That is why the monks turned to the police for help. Law enforcement officers carried the body of the deceased to an armoured vehicle, helped the injured clerics get in, and transported them to one of the medical facilities,” the statement said.
All those injured are currently under the supervision of specialists and are receiving the necessary treatment.
“This cynical attack on a holy site and the killing of an elderly priest is yet another act of terrorism against civilians, once again confirming the enemy’s absolute cruelty, for whom there are no moral boundaries. Yet despite relentless shelling and the constant risk to life, law enforcement officers in the Kherson region go out on evacuations to frontline settlements in the region almost every day,” the National Police stressed.
Novoraisk and Chervonyi Maiak are located in the Novoraisk rural community of Beryslav district.
