Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
According to the head of state, they discussed sanctions work within the EU, covering Ukraine’s budget deficit, and defence co-operation.
“When Russia constantly demonstrates its desire to escalate the war, the response must be tougher sanctions, not the other way round. Every name ended up on the sanctions list for a reason: each of them is part of why this war began and why it continues to this day, why our people are dying every day,” Zelenskyy stressed.
The President said the meeting also covered the situation with Russian attacks and Ukraine’s efforts to counter jet-powered Shahed drones.
“We also discussed our joint defence production, including the construction of new facilities. There is potential to expand co-operation, and we agreed to realise it,” the head of state concluded.
- It was previously reported that the start of construction of a plant to produce solid rocket fuel for Flamingo cruise missiles, which the Ukrainian company Fire Point is building in Denmark, has been postponed until the end of 2027.
- Meanwhile, Danish intelligence said Russian special services are trying to recruit Danish citizens to help prepare sabotage attacks against Danish defence companies, including those with links to Ukraine.
