The Ministry of Culture will help mobilised artists obtain creative leave to work on cultural projects.
This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna, according to Detector Media.
“Indeed, we understand that a number of cultural workers have been mobilised, but nevertheless we are now working with the Ministry of Defence. If these people want to return and create cultural projects, we will advocate for them so that they can receive a certain amount of creative leave to carry out this task. That is what we are doing. Provided, of course, that they have such a desire and permission from the military unit where they are serving,” Berezhna said.
On the overall shortage of human capital in the cultural sector, Berezhna noted that there are currently strong prospects for young people.
“I always think of countries such as Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, where only a few million people live, and Ukraine is 30 million people. Do we really not want to show that the cultural industry is a place where you can develop, where you can find work? In other words, we need to bring forward new faces, and finally show students at arts institutions that there is money in this sector. I wouldn’t think this is some major problem. On the contrary, it is a chance to spotlight new faces and give momentum to new debuts and talents,” the minister said.
