President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Ministry of Defence and military officials responsible for planning the production of Ukrainian weapons.
According to the head of state, the discussion covered long-range operations planned for October, as well as areas for the necessary supplies for the F-16s by the end of the year.
“There are specific countries we are negotiating with on specific aviation packages. There will be reinforcement in the near future,” the head of state assured.
Zelenskyy added that the meeting also addressed a system to counter jet-powered Shahed drones.
“We have identified the first prototypes that can already become effective weapons. There are clear deadlines, funding and volumes that must be secured for the production of these particular weapons,” the head of state concluded.
- That same day, it became known that Ukraine had reached an agreement with Belgium on the transfer of three F-16 fighter jets by the end of this year.
- In addition, there are urgent deliveries of ammunition for the F-16s from Belgium and other countries, including Spain.
