Russian forces carried out an air strike on the central part of Kramatorsk. The attack destroyed the city council’s executive committee building on Peace Square.
This was reported by Oleksandr Honcharenko, head of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration.
According to him, the building was an important part of the city’s history. It survived the occupation in 2014, assaults and events linked to the liberation of Kramatorsk.
"There was history here, the spirit of machine-building, revolution, the life of the city and its plans. The foundation of Ukrainian Kramatorsk. You can destroy a building, scorch our land and steal memories. But you cannot destroy our right to a future," Honcharenko wrote.
- On 23 October, the occupiers dropped three FAB-250 aerial bombs on the city, hitting a residential neighbourhood. One person was killed and six others were injured, including three children aged between one and ten. At the time, 27 residential buildings were damaged.
