Arthur Dron’s book «Hemingway Knows Nothing» will be published in Polish by Pogranicze. The publishing house announced this on its Facebook page.

In telling its audience about the book, the publisher quotes writer and author of the foreword to the Polish edition Krzysztof Czyżewski.

«Arthur Dron’s book is one of the most valuable testimonies to this war,” says Czyżewski. “It stands out for a maturity that, in a debut author, could only have been forged under the pressure of an extreme situation that fundamentally changes one’s life. Hemingway, mentioned in the title, embodies the literary classics who wrote about other wars in other eras. The Ukrainian writer’s vision differs from theirs: he recognises new threats and searches for his own, original language of expression. Dron’s prose also differs from the works of authors who encounter war from the outside — even those who come to observe it or to help its victims. It is truly astonishing how much warmth and humanism there is in the account of a person who holds a weapon in his hands and writes from the depths of a frontline trench».

«Hemingway Knows Nothing» was published in Ukrainian in 2025 and recounts the author’s experience of serving in the infantry. Since then, the book has already been translated and published in English, and is also being translated into several European languages, including Swedish, Portuguese, French and others.

In 2025, the book earned the author the Yuri Shevelov Prize for the best Ukrainian essay writing.
