The Ukrainian side held a meeting with ambassadors from the G7 countries and the EU.

This was reported by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.

He briefed partners on today’s massive attack on Ukraine.

“Russia used 289 drones, 17 ballistic missiles and 59 cruise missiles. The main targets once again were energy facilities — power plants, substations in the electricity transmission and distribution systems. In addition, the enemy directed three drones at a substation critical to the stable operation of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant,” Shmyhal said.

He stressed that such actions by the occupiers “pose a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to the nuclear safety of the whole of Europe. This is a serious step of escalation, which we have reported to the IAEA.”

“We expect an appropriate response from international partners to the further escalation of Russian attacks on infrastructure that ensures the stable operation of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants,” Shmyhal said.

  • Over the past day alone, the enemy deliberately attacked energy facilities more than 20 times, using an unprecedented number of weapons, which led to significant damage to the energy infrastructure.
  • As DTEK later reported, Russia is striking both generation facilities, where electricity is produced, and the substations through which it reaches homes.
  • There is severe destruction in Dnipropetrovsk Region, hits on facilities in Odesa Region and other regions. The most difficult situation at the moment is in Kyiv. Due to extensive damage, emergency outages are continuing, and it is currently impossible to provide predictable schedules.
