Ukraine, Iran sign memorandum on economic cooperation

On Monday, Ukraine and Iran signed the memorandum determining cooperation directions between the countries.

The signing of the document took place in Teheran after the session of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic and trade cooperation, the government press service says.

The countries will, particularly, broaden their trade turnover in the agrarian sphere. Ukraine is interested in increasing the export of cereals, vegetable oils, animal products, sugar, confectionery, fruit and vegetables. Iran, in its turn, is interested in export of dried fruits, shrimps, fish, fruit and vegetables.

Ukraine has offered Iran to invest into the wood sphere of Ukraine and cooperate in fishery.

It is stated that Iran is ready to create joint enterprises and develop processing of agrarian products in Ukraine. Ukraine has offered Iran cooperation in the development of infrastructure and logistics necessary to facilitate trade of agricultural products.

Ukraine has also invited Iran investors to participate in privatization. The sides agreed to create the joint committee on investments.

Ukraine and Iran continue cooperation in banking for the trade benefits.

Ukraine and Iran are interested in coal mining, updating, repair and mutual supply of equipment and details.

"Ukrainian research and scientific institutions can develop coal mines for Iran coal companies," the message says.

The cooperation also concerns production of wagons and passenger carriages, supply of mining equipment,

The aviation cooperation includes modernization of AN-140-100 airliner and its joint serial manufacture, development and manufacture of new modifications of AN-14-100, marketing and selling of AN-158 airliners in Iran region, supply of AN-178 airliners.

Iran is ready to cooperate with Ukraine in the development of combined transports using the "Persian Gulf" corridor, Iran (Astara and the Caspian Sea) – the Black Sea, European countries.
