The former head of the Odesa regional state administration and Georgian ex-president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has decided to set up a new movement called the Movement of New Forces.
"Today around a hundred representatives of initiative groups from all over Ukraine have gathered in our office. We launched work in every region of Ukraine. Together we decided that we are a movement of new forces. Because the word 'movement' reflects everything we do, it is a symbol of change, a symbol of victory," he said on Facebook.
In late November, Saakashvili is planning to hold an open council session of its new movement in central Kyiv.
"On the second anniversary of the inadequate performance of parliament, we will make public our demands and will begin to renew the political elite with the help of candidate pool," he said.
The movement has already launched a website, newforces.com.ua.
In late December 2015, Saakashvili launched the Movement for Cleansing, but it did not last long. In the summer 2016, his associates announced setting up a party called Khvylya (Wave) but as soon as in November, Saakashvili said there was "no new Kvylya". "Khvylya is a process. How can you call a party a process?" he added.
