Border guard wounded in shelling of Stanytsya Luhanska checkpoint

The Donbas militants fired small arms and automatic grenade launchers from the Mount Prince Ihor.

An officer of the Luhansk border detachment was wounded in the militants' shelling of Stanytsya Luhanska checkpoint the State Border Service said in a release on 14 December.

The shelling occurred around midnight, when the Russia-backed terrorists opened fire with small arms and automatic grenade launchers from the Mount Prince Ihor on the uncontrolled territories.

"As a result of fire, one of the guards, who protected the checkpoint Stanytsya Luhanska, was wounded.

A group of border guards was heading for cover when the officer was wounded. He was rendered first aid and rushed to the hospital. There is no threat to his life," the report says.

On 27 November, the militants once again disrupted the pullout of forces and weaponry in the area of Stanytsya Luhanska.
