Ukrainian soldier killed in Luhansk region

The situation in the ATO zone remains tense.

A Ukrainian soldier of one mechanized brigades killed in the area of the village of Krymske, Luhansk region, the ATO press center said in a release on 17 March.

According to preliminary information, the fighter tripped on an improvised explosive device planted as a landmine.

The headquarters note that the situation in the ATO zone remains tense. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian servicemen have withstood 27 enemy shelling attacks. The militants used heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, IFV weapons and 120-mm mortars.

Over the past day, militants made 77 attacks at the ATO positions, killing two soldiers and wounding eight.
