Over 30 attacks by pro-Russian militants have been registered.

Two Ukrainian servicemen have been killed and five wounded as a result of 31 attacks by pro-Russian militants in the antiterrorist operation (ATO) area since the start of 28 April, the ATO HQ press service said its evening update.

In the Maritime (Mariupol) sector, the separatists strongpoints near Krasnohorivka with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, ZU-23-2 air defence systems and grenade launchers of various systems. They used infantry fighting vehicle guns, antitank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms against marines near Pavlopil and Vodyane. Ukrainian marines came under fire from infantry fighting vehicle guns and APCs. The militants used heavy machine guns against near Hnutove.

In the Donetsk sector, the separatists fired with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns against Avdiyivka, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars against Luhanske, antitank grenade launchers against Zaytseve, where enemy snipers were also active.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants fired with 120-mm mortars on Nizhne, 82-mm mortars on Novotoshkivka, automatic grenade launchers on Krymske and heavy machine guns on Popasna.

In some cases, the ATO forces returned fire.

One of the Ukrainian servicemen who got killed on 28 April triggered a mine near Pavlopil.

On 27 April, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed and four wounded in Donbas.
