One Ukrainian soldier was killed in an engagement near Talakivka in Donetsk Region today, the spokesperson for the antiterrorist operation (ATO) HQ, Anatoliy Stelmakh, has told 112 Ukraine TV.

Yet another, so-called "school" ceasefire was to start this midnight.

Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in the antiterrorist operation (ATO) area on 24 August while the country was marking Independence Day, the ATO HQ press centre said in its morning update on Facebook.

Pro-Russian militants carried out a total of 22 shooting attacks.

After 6 p.m. Kyiv time, the militants continued to use arms of over 100 m in calibre and targeted the industrial area of Avdiyivka with grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms from Yasynuvata. They fired with 82-mm mortars, having shot at least 27 bombs at Troyitske.

In the Luhansk sector, they used 120-mm mortars to fire on the suburbs of Katerynivka, 82-mm mortars near Novotoshkivske and Novooleksandrivka, and heavy machine guns near Stanytsya Luhanska.

In the Mariupol sector, Taramchuk's suburbs were targeted with grenade launchers and small arms.
