On Wednesday, 30 August, a regional councillor, the head of Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Centre NGO, Dmytro Bulakh, was beaten in Kharkiv, the NGO has tweeted.

Bulakh is a member of the Self-Help deputy group in the council. MP Roman Semenukha of the same party suggested that "such things and provocations" may be plotted against other Self-Help deputies in Kharkiv Region.

"The criminals in Kharkiv have passed another rubicon, and I demand an immediate reaction from the head of the Kharkiv regional state administration, Yuliya Svitlychna, and the leaders of law-enforcement agencies. It's a matter of honour for the regional leaders to bring the perpetrators and customers of the crime to justice," Semenukha wrote on Facebook.
