Donbas militants breach truce 36 times

No casualties among the ATO troops.

Over the past day, militants have stepped up armed provocations in the area of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) in Donbas, using mainly small arms and grenade launchers.

The ATO HQ press centre said in a Facebook report on 5 September that the Donetsk sector remained the hotspot of hostilities in Donbas.

In the Donetsk sector, militants on four occasions opened fire from small arms and heavy machine guns near Zaytseve and twice near the village of Pisky. Russia-backed terrorists used grenade launchers in the Avdiyivka industrial zone, near Kamyanka and the Butivka coalmine.

The situation was also troublesome in the Mariupol sector where the militants continued shelling provocations in the vicinity of Vodyane after 18:00. They targeted the positions of the Ukrainian military on the outskirts of Lebedynske, Shyrokyne and Maryinka with grenade launchers. The ATO strongpoints near Talakivka came under fire from heavy machine guns three times on 4 September.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants fired with various weapons near the villages of Krymske, Luhanske and Malynove.

"Over the past 24 hours, the ATO positions have been subjected to 36 shooting attacks by the Russian-occupying forces. Of these attacks, 18 were targeted. There were no casualties among the Ukrainian military," the HQ said.
