Over the past day, pro-Russian militants have carried out 44 shooting attacks, including 21 targeted attacks on the positions of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) forces in Donbas. One Ukrainian soldier was wounded as a result of a grenade launcher attack in the vicinity of Maryinka.

The ATO HQ said in a Monday report that the situation in Donbas bore the signs of escalation as the enemy continued shooting in all the sectors.

The situation in the Donetsk sector was the most restless, especially near the village of Zaytseve, in the Avdiyivka industrial zone, and near Mayorske.

In the Mariupol sector, the enemy used weapons in the vicinity of Pavlopil, Hnutove, Talakivka, Lebedynske and Shyrokyne.

In the Luhansk sector, the enemy fired with small arms on the Stanytsya Luhanska checkpoint. The ATO forces did not return fire.

On Saturday, 2 September, one Ukrainian soldier was lightly wounded in Donbas.

According to the ATO HQ, three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded on the first day of a new armistice in Donbas on 25 August. No casualties were reported from 26 August to 1 September.

On 30 August, Ukrainian Volunteer Army fighter Hennadiy Levytskyy was killed in the ATO zone near Maryinka, Donetsk Region.

The Ukrainian Volunteer Army is a voluntary military formation established in December 2015 after Dmytro Yarosh and his supporters pulled out from the Right Sector movement. It is not a part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
