Kyiv plans another hike in water, drainage tariffs

The municipal utility company Kyivvodokanal plans to increase the tariffs for cold water supply and drainage from 15.8 to 18.5 hryvnyas per cu.m. as of 2018.

The company said in a statement on 6 September that in 2018, the tariffs for centralized water supply and sanitation for residents of apartment blocks will be 18.469 hryvnyas per cu. m., of which 9.474 hryvnyas will be paid for 1 cu.m. of supplied water and 8.995 hryvnyas for 1 cu.m. of drained water.

The company said the move was due to an increase in the cost of electricity, fuel and lubricants, reagents, as well as a change in the level of depreciation and a rise in wages.

At the moment, the minutes of the meeting were sent for consideration by the national energy and utilities regulator.

Kyivvodokanala increased the tariffs for water supply and drainage from 13.77 to 15.79 hryvnyas per cu.m. on 12 May.
