The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained the first deputy head of the audit department of the Ukrainian railway company (Ukrzaliznytsya), Vakhtang Dzhakeli, when he was receiving the first instalment of a bribe in the amount of 70,000 dollars which he is believed to have extorted in exchange for appointment to a senior post in the company.

He planned to receive a total of 300,000 dollars, Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yuriy Lavrenyuk said on Facebook.
