Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov, whom Russian convicted to 20 years in a colony on trumped-up terrorism charges, has refused from food for 15 days now. However, according to the press service of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, he has agreed to supportive therapy.

"Let us inform you that convict O.G. Sentsov, who refused from food, is under the dynamic monitoring of the medical staff at the establishment where he is serving his sentence. At present, O.G. Sentsov has started receiving supportive therapy, to which he had agreed," it said.

His general health condition has not deteriorated during his hunger strike.

"At present, his condition is satisfactory. Discussions on the negative consequences of a long-term hunger on the body are regularly held with the convict," it added.

On 16 May, Sentsov announced a hunger strike, demanding that all Ukrainians illegally held in Russia and Russia-annexed Crimea be released. He will continue his hunger strike until he dies or until 64 political prisoners are released.
