According to the National Bank of Ukraine's (NBU) estimates, labour migrants transferred 11bn dollars to Ukraine in 2018, NBU first deputy head Kateryna Rozhkova has said at a news conference.
"Last year the sum reached around 11bn dollars," she said.
The NBU expects an increase in remittances to slow down in 2019 while migration processes are subsiding. However, a further nominal growth of labour migrants' income is predicted.
According to the State Migration Service and the State Border Service, 3.2m Ukrainian nationals are employed abroad permanently, from 7m to 9m non-permanently.
