Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyy district court has rejected prosecutors' request to extend the custody for the head of the Kherson regional council, Vladyslav Manher, LB.ua has learnt.

He is suspected of ordering the murder of Kherson activist Kateryna Handzyuk in 2018. She suffered an acid attack on 31 July. On 4 November, she died of complications in hospital.

The court arrested him until 3 March. He was bailed out for 2.497m hryvnyas.

Manher no longer has to report to an investigator or leave his home town. He has his passports back and will not have to wear an ankle monitor.
