The head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's election HQ, Ivan Bakanov, has been appointed first deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
He will also head the main department for fighting corruption and organized crime at the central department of the SBU.
He replaced Pavlo Demchyna, who was dismissed shortly before President Petro Poroshenko left office.
Bakanov, Zelenskyy's long-time friend, is the director of Kvartal-95 Studio Ltd and Kvartal 95 Ltd. He is also the leader of the Servant of the People party.
