The State Investigation Bureau has searched the office of the rolling-news TV channel Pryamyy in Kyiv. The channel is known to be supportive of ex-President Petro Poroshenko.

The bureau said that the search was held as part of the investigation into the sale and purchase of the channel.

"It is impossible to say something more specific given the confidentiality of pre-trial investigation. Let us make a point that all investigative actions in these criminal proceedings are held solely within the framework of the law in effect," it said.

The bureau has already summoned businessman Serhiy Tyhypko and Pryamyy TV owner Volodymyr Makeyenko for an interview in the case on a possible usurpation of power by ex-President Petro Poroshenko.

In early June 2019, Pryamyy general producer Oleksiy Semenov resigned. He now heads the Novyny media group associated with Vladimir Putin's friend Viktor Medvedchuk.
