The Orthodox Church of Ukraine has said that vaccines help society to form collective immunity and avoid mass deaths the way it happened in ancient times.

"Coming into this world, a person not only gets all the opportunities to grow and learn but also becomes the bearer of the responsibility God has placed on him. We can take advantage of the many technological achievements of our time and the experience of previous generations. However, no matter how complex and globally developed the world may seem, we must remember that it can be extremely vulnerable. A vivid example of this are the epidemics of infectious diseases that begin with a microscopic pathogen invisible to the human eye but can lead to catastrophic consequences," it said on Facebook.

The Orthodox Church of Ukraine pointed out that at the current level of development of healthcare, vaccination is the most effective way to protect oneself against infections.
