Russian occupiers have slowed the pace of the offensive. However, they are still attempting to succeed in other areas of the offensive, reported the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a brief at 6 a.m. on 28 February.

It states that the enemy continued to inflict fire on military and civilian airfields, military control points (forces), air defense facilities, critical infrastructure objects, settlements, and units in defense areas during the air offensive.

“Violating the norms of international humanitarian law, occupiers treacherously launched a missile strike on residential buildings in the cities of Zhytomyr and Chernihiv. At the same time, all of the Russian occupiers’ attempts to achieve the goals of the military operation have failed. We are successfully defeating the attacks of the battalion-tactical groups on the approaches, forcing the enemy to abandon the offensive.” the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

They also reported that, as of today, more than five columns of enemy equipment and manpower had been destroyed by artillery fire from only one Ukrainian brigade.

“The enemy is demoralized and bears heavy losses. Frequent cases of desertion and disobedience have been noted. The enemy has realized that propaganda and reality differ. Occupiers are afraid of us. Defenders of Ukraine continue to maintain a stable defense.” said the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At night, occupiers actively fired at Chernihiv: ammunition hit the residential building, a shop, and a kindergarten. Enemy columns repeatedly tried to attack Kyiv suburbs from different sides, but now the situation in Kyiv is under control.

Berdiansk in Zaporizhzhia oblast is currently occupied.
