Russia-Ukraine negotiations continue in Belarus (updated)

The key issue of the negotiations is an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine.

The Ukrainian delegation arrived in the area of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border to take part in negotiations with representatives of the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Parliament.

The delegation included the following people:

  • The leader of the political party "Servant of the People" David Arahamiya,
  • The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov,
  • The Adviser to the Head of the President Administration Mykhailo Podoliak,
  • First Deputy Head of the Delegation of Ukraine to the Trilateral Contact Group Andriy Kostin,
  • Member of the Parliament Rustem Umerov,
  • Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi

The key issue of the negotiations is an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine.

 

Update 16:48. On his Twitter account Podoliak said that the negotiations were going on. The third round will begin soon.

Update. The Belarusian Telegraph Agency BelTA announced the start of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations. Negotiations are taking place in the Gomel region, at the border between Ukraine and Belarus.

The leader of the political party "Servant of the People" David Arahamiya, is confident that negotiations with the Russian Federation will take place only in the direction needed by Ukraine.

"Negotiations will go either in the right direction or as a Russian warship," Arahamiya wrote on Facebook at the night of February 28.

Responding to comments on Facebook, Arahamiya said: "We are going to listen to the suggestions. And then we will discuss whether they are worth it or not."
