The United States of America has made the decision to carry out blocking sanctions against 22 Russian companies involved in the defense sector.
This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine referring to the White House.
"Among the actions taken today, there are completely blocking sanctions against Russian defense structures," the press release says.
The restrictions will affect 22 Russian defense-related entities, including companies that build combat aircraft, infantry fighting vehicles, electronic weapons systems, missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles for the Russian military.
"Today, we are also imposing tough sanctions on Russia's defense sector. In general, these sanctions and restrictions have a powerful impact on Russia's economy. President Putin's war budget has suddenly run out," said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, quoted by the US Embassy in Ukraine.
