Russian occupation forces once again entered the satellite city of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP).
The press service of NNEGC Energoatom [Ukraine’s national nuclear energy generating company] released a video of the occupiers and their equipment entering Energodar, as well as photos of the occupiers near the city council.
"Be alert to messages of propaganda and false information!" Energodar residents warned Energoatom.
Earlier, the mayor of Energodar, Dmitry Orlov, recorded an appeal to residents of the city, in which he stressed that the Russian military "did not shoot at civilians, and if they fired, then only with blank bullets." The mayor asked civilians not to resist, "not to provoke" the occupying troops.
NNEGC Energoatom believes that this appeal could have been recorded under duress, at the end of the muzzle of an automatic weapon.
Yesterday we reported that Russian troops had fired at ZNPP, located in the city of Energodar, which led to a fire breaking out at the nuclear power plant’s compound. Station staff were not injured. Three Ukrainian military defenders were killed and two others were wounded.
On 1 March Russian troops approached the Energodar checkpoint. After a meeting with the Russian occupiers, the mayor of Energodar wrote in his Telegram channel that "for the third time !!! Energodar is becoming a solid wall at the entrance to the city, blocking the entrance to the occupiers. Thousands of people came to show that they do NOT need to be saved … Results as of now. Once again, uninvited "guests" are strongly advised not to approach the city."
