Negotiations will go hard, but the president won't make concessions which humiliate our struggle, - Podoliak

The position of the Russian Federation is tough, but the position of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine is also tough, so negotiations will be difficult. But they will go. This was stated at a joint briefing with the leader of the "Servant of the People" faction, adviser to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak.

He noted that there are three important components for the negotiaitions.

The first one is that Ukraine's position today is greatly strengthened by Western partners.

The second one is that the president, according to Podoliak, will not make concessions that "humiliate the ongoing struggle."

"President Zelensky will definitely not make any concessions that could undermine our struggle in Ukraine for its territorial integrity. Moreover, he clearly understands the boundaries we can go to by talking to the Russian Federation, which we cannot. This is a big structure in which we work," Podoliak said.

He also added that the third component is that the Ukrainian delegation clearly understands the psychological state of people on the other side.

"We understand the psychological state of those we work with, what their goals are, what intellectual principles they rely on, what they understand about Ukraine, what they do not understand. Therefore, in principle, we are comfortable enough to understand the motives of the Russian side. "We are not just negotiating and listening to them. We understand where they want to go, why they think so," Podoliak said.

We remind, that the second round of negotiations took place yesterday, March 3. The parties managed to agree on securing humanitarian borders. Ukraine tried to agree to a no-aircraft and conflict-free zone near the nuclear power plant, but Russia's military did not agree.
