European Union considers the Lukashenko regime in Belarus an accomplice of Russia in the war against Ukraine

The European Union considers Lukashenko regime as co-agressor in the Russian war against Ukraine. Ukrinform reports that this was what the EU address during the special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council was about.

“Putin’s full-scale war against Ukraine is a gross violation of international law and the UN Charter. It undermines European and global security and stability. A historic UN General Assembly resolution last week showed that the international community is united in its opposition to the Russian war of aggression. Russia, with the participation of the Lukashenko regime as a co-aggressor, is fully responsible for the human casualties, injuries and destruction,” the statement says.

The European Union also demanded that Russia “immediately stop its warfare, withdraw all its troops from the entire territory of Ukraine and fully respect the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and territorial waters.” At the same time, Russia “should stop its disinformation and cyberattack campaign.”

“We also repeat our call to Belarus to not promote Russian aggression and follow its international commitments. The EU strongly supports Ukraine’s integral right to self-defense and the efforts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to protect Ukraine's territorial integrity and population in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, " the EU statement says.

As reported earlier, part of the Russian army invaded from the territory of Belarus, from where Russian missile strikes are launched and from where Russian aircraft begin sorties.
