Chornobyl nuclear power plant does not receive power from Belarus, - Centre for Strategic Communication

Belarus did not restore the power supply to the Chornobyl NPP.

Has informed the Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security of Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian atomic energy company "Energoatom" called the information from Belarusian Ministry of Energy, that they have connected the Chornobyl nuclear power plant to the Belarusian power grid, fake news," - stated Ukrainian Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security.

Earlier today Belarusian Ministry of Energy said that they restored electricity supply to Chornobyl nuclear power plant through the electric power grid from Mazyr.

Power has been completely cut off from the CNPP due to barbaric actions of russian occupants, the national power company Ukrenergo has mentioned.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that reserve diesel generators have a 48-hour capacity to power the Chornobyl NPP. After that, the cooling systems of the storage facility for spent nuclear fuel will stop, there is a risk of a radiation leak.

On March 9, the International Atomic Energy Agency [IAEA] stopped receiving crucial data from the safety monitoring systems at the CNPP, which is currently under Russian control.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has already launched criminal proceedings over an "ecocide" following Russia's seizure of the Chornobyl and Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plants.
