The Ukrainian defense forces are holding back the offensive in all directions. Thirty-one Russian battalion tactical groups that operated on Ukrainian territory have already lost their combat capability, General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported in the briefing as of 6 a.m. on day 17th of the heroic opposition of Ukrainians to the Russian military invasion.
“In the Polissia, Siverskyy, Pivdennobuhskyy operational areas, the enemy suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment. The enemy is stopped and trying to gain a foothold on the previously captured frontiers. In the Donetsk direction, while trying to advance, occupiers received a decent rebuff from the Ukrainian defenders and were stopped in some directions. In the rest of the directions, the enemy significantly reduced the pace of advancing, the General Staff noted.
Most of the enemy divisions who had fire contact with the UAF are demoralized. There are cases of the whole group surrendering. During the last three days, small groups of enemy deserters moved towards the state border.
“The enemy is experiencing a major problem with manning the reserve. In coordinated cooperation with other branches of the security and defense sector and national resistance forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back a massive offensive by the occupying forces. We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Together we will win! Glory to Ukraine!" - the General Staff summed up.
On the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine, the General Staff reported that more than 60 Russian battalion tactical groups entered the Ukrainian territory.
Russia's total combat losses in the full-scale war against Ukraine as of March 11 are more than 12,000 killed, 353 tanks, 1,165 armored combat vehicles, 125 artillery systems, 58 multiple rocket launcher systems, 31 air defense, 57 aircraft, 83 helicopters, 558 cars, three boats and ships, 60 fuel tanks.
