The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov with the Order "For Courage" of the Third Degree. This is stated on the website of the President of Ukraine.
"Welcome back! Ukraine does not leave its people in trouble," the statement said.
On 16 March the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov was released from the captivity of the occupiers where he spent 5 days.
The Russian military abducted Fedorov at the crisis center, where he was organizing aid to the city's population. Russia used a group of 10 of its invaders to capture the mayor.
