The defense of Kyiv in the war with Russia takes place in the fortified areas where our ancestors held positions in battles with the Nazis.
This was stated in an interview with Military Television by the commander of the intelligence Shaman.
"They can go to the bridge. The defense is kept on the river ... Right now the defense of Kyiv is on the Kyiv fortified area. In those places our ancestors defended Kyiv against fascist invaders. Now we hold the same defense of Kyiv against people who call themselves anti-fascists, but in fact, the methods and techniques of war are even worse than those used by the Nazis, "he said.
The shaman added that the Russians want the same thing as Hitler's Germany - they are trying to enter the operational space to maneuver and capture the city.
"To do this, they need to break through the defense. Whether it's somewhere near Vyshhorod or elsewhere - it plays a small role. They just poke, looking for where they can throw a pontoon and cross the river," - added the scout.
Shaman is a modern legend of Ukrainian intelligence, a special operations soldier.
