Members of the European Parliament from various countries established the "United for Ukraine" – U4U network to help our country resolve the issues appearing because of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
This was announced by Eugenia Kravchuk, a member of the “People’s Servant” parliamentary faction and representative of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Andrius Kubiliius, a member of the European parliament and former Prime-Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, initiated the establishment of the U4U network. He is supported by the interparty coalition of members of the European Parliament from Germany, France, Lithuania, Slovakia, and other countries.
“Currently U4U unites more than 60 MEPs from 15 states who actively work for the support of Ukraine in their countries and at the international level. In the future we are going to extend the network so that it contains several representatives from each country of the EU and NATO as well as from Ukraine,” Kravchuk said.
The network will start functioning soon. On 22 March 2022, U4U founding online meeting will take place whereat the MEPs will share their ideas on the main strategic priorities and discuss the next steps.
“Because of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the burning issues of weapon supply, imposing Western sanctions, assistance to refugees as well the issues of future reconstruction of infrastructure ruined by Russian troops, of economic recovery, and Ukraine’s integration to the EU have arisen. That is what the international global interparty network of members of parliaments from various countries, of the European Parliament, and the U.S. Senate – U4U – was created for,” Kravchuk explained.
Earlier nearly 100 members of the European Parliament called for the imposition of the EU embargo on the import of gas and oil from Russia.
