The evacuation train 43 Kyiv - Ivano-Frankivsk got caught in shelling close to Vasylkiv in the Kyiv region in the evening of March 24th.
It was announced by the CEO of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" [Ukrainian Railways] Oleksandr Kamyshin on his Telegram channel.
“Three cars ended up with broken windows. According to current data, neither the train crew nor the passengers got seriously hurt. The chief of the train and the crew did their job accurately,” wrote Kamyshin.
He added that “Russia has yet again targeted the railway infrastructure. This time an evacuation train with people got fired upon. Such trains are the most sacred thing we have at the moment”.
On March 16th Russia performed a missile attack targeting the railway station in Zaporizhzhia.
