In Mariupol, the Russian military forcibly transferred patients and doctors from the city hospital №1.

The number of people taken away is unknown, but there were about 700 people in the hospital. This was reported in the Mariupol City Council in Telegram.

"According to eyewitnesses, the occupiers forcibly removed medical staff, patients and other Mariupol residents who were hiding from enemy shell bombing in the basement of the medical institution in an unknown direction," the statement said.

On 15 March, there was a report that the occupiers had taken the staff and patients of the Mariupol hospital hostage. The number of the medical institution was not specified.

Enemy troops were stationed inside the hospital and fired at the defenders' positions.

This is not the first time the occupiers have deported people from Mariupol. Ukrainians are forcibly deported and offered accommodation in the occupying country, their documents are confiscated.
